Have a good Father's Day? We certainly hope so. This week brings lots of school board and township government meetings as well as updates in court cases involving Macomb Township victims. Stay tuned to Patch for updates on these issues and more.

A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 80.

  1. We'll see a few clouds here and there, but for the most part it will be partly sunny with a high near 80 degrees. There's a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and a 30 percent chance heading into the evening. The clouds will stay overhead tonight as the temperature drops to around 64, according to the National Weather Service.
  2. In recognition of Macomb Township's German roots, we bring you the German Word of the Day: dort, meaning there, is an adverb pronounced [dort].
  3. Chippewa Valley Schools may be out for summer vacation, but the school board is conducting business as usual at tonight's meeting. The agenda is a mile long, but we've cut through the old business, new business, be it resolved verbiage and rationale to give you a rough idea of what the board will discuss tonight: mainly money. They meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Administration Building on Cass Avenue.
  4. Fore! The annual  will be held today at Greystone Golf Course in Romeo. The four-man scramble will tee off at 11 a.m. 
  5. Let's play a game. I say a word and you say the first word that comes into your head. "Summer ..." Well if you answered, "Construction," ding, ding, ding! That's right, prepare for another nightmare. A $3.15 million to widen 26 Mile from Van Dyke to M-53 from a four-lane boulevard to a six-lane boulevard is set to begin today. Enjoy, motorists!
