We have weather, quick headlines of the day and events you don't want to miss. The best part? It can all be read in less than five minutes.

Ahh Friday. If the weekend is as beautiful as this week was gross, you'll probably be spending a lot of time outdoors. That being said, we have news you need to know ready and rarin' to be read. Stay classy, Macomb.

  1. Rain, rain, go away, it's summer now, the sun should stay. Well folks, you guessed it. Scattered showers and cloudy skies with a high near 65 degrees today. The chance of precipitation is 50 percent, but that means there is a 50 percent chance of no precipitation. Rain bucket half full? We finish the day out with a low around 54, according to the National Weather Service.
  2. In recognition of Macomb Township's German roots, we bring you the German Word of the Day: (das) Wohnzimmer, meaning living room, is a noun pronounced [das] [Vone-zimmer].
  3. The two Sterling Heights men and one Shelby Township man facing multiple felony charges in the will face their preliminary examinations at 9 a.m. today in 41A District Court in Sterling Heights. Stay with Patch for more on this story.
  4. The Clinton-Macomb Public Library Main Library is selling variety of books  for $1 each at the Friends of the Library clearance sale today and Saturday. All proceeds fund library programming, so grab a few summer reads and help the library plan more concerts and activities during the year. 
  5. The St. Isidore Strawberry Festival starts today and runs through Sunday. A , and you'll find tonight's events listed below. And if you need even more ideas for weekend fun, check out this week's events.

  • Talent Show: 6-9 p.m.
  • Classic Car Show: 6-9 p.m. Drivers can preregister by calling 586- 286-1700 or sign up on the day. There is a $15 entry fee.
  • Ice Cream Sundae Bar: 6-9 p.m.
  • Vegas Room: In the church social hall, 6 p.m.-midnight
  • Game Tent: 6-10 p.m.
