Ozone Levels Spark Air Quality Alert for Friday

The Michigan Dept. of Environmental Quality declares Sept. 2 an ozone action day.

An anticipated spike in ozone concentrations Friday has the National Weather Service issuing an air quality alert and the Michigan Dept. of Environmental Quality declaring an Ozone Action Day.

Active children and anyone with respiratory diseases like asthma should limit prolonged outdoor exertion tomorrow.

Everyone is encouraged to carpool and delay or combine errands. Avoid refueling vehicles and using gasoline-powered equipment, oil-based paints and charcoal lighter fluid.
