Rain, Wind and Freezing Temps Could Bring 1 - 3 Inches of Snow to Area

Today's rain is expected to turn to snow as winds pick up and temperatures fall this afternoon.

We may have dodged a white Christmas, but 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected to fall late this afternoon and into tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac.

The rain is expected to turn to snow after 4 p.m., and though the snow may not accumulate on the roadways, NWS warns drivers that the large wet snowflakes will limit visibilities at times to one-half mile.

The temperature will drop to around 20 degrees tonight, and that combined with wind gusts as high as 28 mph will make for "blustery" conditions through the evening.
