This Week's Events: Clowning Around, Free Concerts, Fishfly Fest and More

All this week there are picnics, concerts, fairs and festivals with fun for the whole family. We've listed just a few here.

Where/When: , 19449 25 Mile Rd.; 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. June 21.
Why Go: It's time for the Rosco's Picnic Pallooza Series, where families and their children are invited to stop at for outdoor fun and games. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, sunscreen, and pack a lunch or buy pizza and enjoy Rosco and friends as they entertain the crowd. It's a show that's fun for all ages, and after the show ends stick around for fun at the KiDzOnE, with fun and games and inflatables. If it rains, head to the Recreation Center for fun. Today's theme is Rosco's Silly Magic Show.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Wolcott Mill Farm Center; 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. June 21-23.
Why Go: The Farm Center is holding a three-day event, Farm Walk & Talk in conjunction with Michigan's No Child Left Inside Initiative. Families can enjoy walking tours where they'll learn about conservation and agriculture, and enjoy an hour-long trip around the farm and fields.

Where/When: Downtown New Baltimore, in the Bay-Rama Festival Tent. June 21, 5-8 p.m.
Why Go: It's time for the Anchor Bay Tastefest. Enjoy culinary creations from area eateries, plus live entertainment and a 50/50 raffle. Awards will be handed out for people's choice, best restaurant, pizza and caterer, best presentation/crew, and the mayor's choice award.

Where/When: Downtown New Baltimore, near and at , 36300 Front St., June 22-26.
Why Go: Head on up the road and enjoy this fabulous festival along the water, where there is something for everyone. There's the carnival for the kids and kids at heart, going on daily. If you're hungry for competition, sign up for food-eating contests. If you love clowning around, check out Rosco the Clown's act; he'll be peforming daily on the Midway. Plus there will be live music each evening, plus dancing. Kids day is Saturday, with a petting zoo and other fun in the works. The beauty pageant, where Miss Bay-Rama 2011 gets crowned, will be held Wednesday evening. And of course, there's the parade, which begins 1 p.m. Sunday. And this is only the short list.

Where/When: Clinton-Macomb Public Library, Main Branch; 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. June 24 and 25.
Why Go: Start your weekend with some bargain books, as the Clint0n-Macomb Public Library's Main Branch holds a Mini Used Book Sale June 24 and 25. Drop in for great deals on thousands of books, including classics, best-sellers, children's books and more.

Where/When:; 2 p.m. June 24.
Why Go: Do your kids age 6-12 have ants in their pants? Sign them up for Just Dance! at the North Branch of the library, where they'll dance, wiggle and play games to their hearts' content.
Pricing: Free, but registration is required.


Where/When: The Crocker House Museum, 15 Union St., Mount Clemens; 9 a.m.-4 p.m. June 25.
Why Go: While away a summer Saturday morning and afternoon with this fabulous garden walk. You'll see the Crocker House Victorian Garden plus several other stunning gardens at historic homes in the area. You'll also see lace-making demonstrations and have a chance to tour the Crocker House. Plus you can sign up (in advance) for a continental breakfast with Cheryl English, where you'll learn about wildflowers.
Pricing: For the walk, tickets are $10 for members of the Macomb County Historical Society and $15 for non-members. For the lecture and breakfast: $6 for members, $8 for non-members. Call 586-465-2488 if you have questions.


Where/When: Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center, 100 Harrington, Mount Clemens; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. June 25.
Why Go: Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center (MCRMC) holds its second Real Women event. Women of all ages are invited to attend and hear presentations by women for women on work-life balance, health-related issues and more. Topics include pregnancy, menopause and intimacy; heart disease; breast cancer; weight management. There will also be fitness demonstrations, including Zumba.

Where/When: Wolcott Mill Farm Center, 65775 Wolcott Rd., Ray Township; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. June 25 and 26.
Why Go: Wolcott Mill Farm Center is holding its Country Fair this weekend. Those who go will enjoy wagon rides, farm animals, live entertainment and much more. Demonstration will be held, including shoeing and riding horses, chainsaw carving, wool processing and weaving. Plus, the Sheriff Department's K-9 Unit will strut its canine stuff. Crafts will also be for sale, and food fun is in the works, including a pie-eating contest. Kids will have a shot at their own fun, including old-fashioned games and a petting zoo. That's only the tip of the iceberg.
Pricing: $5 per person. Children 2 and under get in free. Some activities will have additional charges, and food will be for sale if all the country fair fun works up an appetite.


Where/When: ; 7 p.m. June 25.
Why Go: Immanuel Lutheran is hosting a free concert featuring Laura Story with special guest John Walle. Story is a Dove Award winnerm and both artists will sing songs from their new CDs. Seating is open/general admission except for the front VIP donor section which is reserved for those who have or will donate to The Alms Project Inc.
Pricing: Free, but a "love offering" will be accepted for The Alms Project.
