  • The heat wave forecasters are predicting for this week takes a break today with a high near 73 degrees and mostly sunny skies. It'll be a touch windy all day though with gusts as high as 20 mph morning to evening. Today's low will come in around 56 degrees and skies will be mostly clear, according to the National Weather Service.
  • The Macomb Township Board of Trustees meets tonight at 7 at Town Hall. It sure would be nice to have some company, but if you can't make it out to the meeting, Patch will be there to keep you informed of what's going on in your township and how your tax dollars are being spent.
  • In recognition of Macomb Township's German roots, we bring you the German Word of the Day: sich beklagen, meaning to complain about, is a verb pronounced [sikh] [beh-klah-gen].

  • Preparing to run its fourth St. Jude Marathon this year, Team SuperSam is ramping up its summer fund-raising efforts with an Aug. 27 Golf Scramble at Hickory Hollow Golf Course. Golfers who register before Aug. 8 will receive an arm's length of free raffle tickets and a Golfsmith gift card.
