  • If you can stay in the A/C today, you're going to want to do so. We're looking at a high near 91 degrees with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8 a.m, according to the National Weather Service. The chance of storms goes down to 30 percent in the evening, but the low is only 71 degrees, so be sure to stay in the shade, drink lots of water and check on your elderly relatives and friends throughout the day.
  • The Chippewa Valley school board meets tonight at 6:30 in the Administration Building at 19120 Cass Ave. in Clinton Township. 
  • Hockey legend and Clinton Township resident, John Burnosky, more commonly known as "Mr. B," will serve as grand marshal at this year's Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise. Burnosky recently celebrated his 100th birthday. 
  • Macomb Township-based rock band, Metaphoria, is currently working on its debut record. The record's first two singles, "Troublefree Transmission" and "Can't Get Enough," are currently available for download in the band's online store.
  • In recognition of Macomb Township's German roots, we bring you the German Word of the Day: Rührei, meaning scrambled eggs, is a noun pronounced [rhoor-eye].
