Pizza Hut moves into town, a coupon class shares savings secrets, foreign language tales are told at the library and the world celebrates Aunt and Uncle Day. It's your news fast.

It's Aunt and Uncle Day, according to Holiday Insights, so Patch encourages you to take a few minutes (after reading Today's News Fast) to call or visit your own aunts and uncles. Be they near or far away, they're family and who doesn't like to know someone is thinking about them now and again?

  • These are the summer days we've been dreaming about. Today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 84 degrees, and a refreshing breeze. It will be partly cloudy tonight, with a low around 61 degrees, which means you can probably get away with turning off the AC and opening the windows. Today's forecast according to the National Weather Service.
  • Alert your taste buds, pizza fans; Pizza Hut is moving into Macomb. A carryout and delivery store is slated to open on Hall Road west of Heydenreich in the same plaza as and Sargent Appliance. No opening date has been set, but the store is hiring. 
  • Dorrie Soborowski is bringing her "Creative Coupons and More" class to the Macomb Township Recreation Center Thursday. During the course of two hours, Soborowski passes on her expertise in coupon savings to her students. When asked who could benefit from the class, she replied: "Anyone who eats."
  • Buongiorno! It's foreign language story time at the Clinton-Macomb Public Library's Main Branch. Today's tale will be told in Italian. The story starts at 2 p.m. and all children and parents are welcome.
  • In recognition of Macomb Township's German roots, we bring you the German Word of the Day: Buchhandlung, meaning bookstore, is a noun, pronounced [boo-kh-hand-lung].
