The Chippewa Valley superintendent weighs in on Lansing's proposed education reforms, a local pizza franchise looks to raise money for veterans and the Shelby-Macomb Daybreakers Kiwanis Club desperately seeks members. It's all in today's news.

  • We could see patchy fog before 8 a.m., but otherwise, the National Weather Service predicts mostly sunny skies all day, with a high near 71 degrees. The low will drop to around 57 degrees tonight. All in all, a fairly beautiful day. 
  • A package of bills in the Michigan House and Senate proposes a series of educational reforms. However, how these bills will impact local school districts is a question administrators like Chippewa Valley Superintendent Ron Roberts are trying to answer.   • Sam's Sorrento Pizza will kick off its "Support Our Troops” campaign today at noon in downtown Mount Clemens. The local franchise has set a goal of raising $10,000 for the Veteran's Support Center in Roseville by Veteran's Day.
