Today's News Fast: Sept. 21
Plans for the upcoming Party in the Park, freebie deals you can access through Facebook and a mix of school news, weather and the German language (because we can).
- We may see areas of fog before 8 a.m. and there's a chance of showers, with thunderstorms possible after 2 p.m. Otherwise, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 75 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms could creep in during the evening hours, leading to mostly cloudy skies, with a low around 53 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
- This Week's Deals to Save Macomb Moola is all about savings with social media. By "liking" businesses such as AMC, Old Navy, CVS and Wendy's, you'll receive coupons for free food and discounted clothes.
- Should Chippewa Valley name facilities such as libraries and gyms after past school employees or community members? That question divided the school board this week and has yet to be decided.
- This Saturday from noon-2 p.m. all residents are invited to a Party in the Park, Macomb Corners Park. There will be fun and games for all ages, food, a concert and the opportunity to view the artwork installed along the park's walking trail as part of the Detroit Institute of Art's Inside/Out program.
- In recognition of Macomb Township's German roots, we bring you the German Word of the Day: Augenblick, meaning a moment, is a noun pronounced [ow-gen-blik].
