It's Friday, which means football! If you're not a pigskin fan, no worries, we have lots of other stories for you to enjoy as you head into the weekend.
- If you're a betting person, and are willing to believe the National Weather Service's forecast for today, you can expect rain, cloudy skies and a high near 62 degrees. Tonight's low will be around 49 degrees.
- L'Anse Creuse North goes up against district rival L'Anse Creuse High School at 7 p.m. at North stadium. The Crusaders are 0-4 this season and the Lancers 1-3. It should be quite a battle. plays at Stevenson also at 7 p.m. We'll have photos of both games, so check back!
- Rotary clubs are partnering with networking website Stik.com to raise "Pennies for Polio." The catch? You don't have to donate a dime of your own money. For each recommendation and review you make on Stik.com (which is a free site), the site will donate its own money to the End Polio Now fund. Win-win.
- Have nail polish remover? Disinfectant? Fertlizer at home? Macomb Township residents are invited to dispose of these items at the township's annual Hazardous Household Waste Drop-off Day Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Marvin Blank Senior Center.
- In recognition of Macomb Township's German roots, we bring you the German Word of the Day: vorbei, meaning over, is an adverb pronounced [for-bye].
