  1. Today will be partly sunny, but occasional glimpses of sun will help the temperature to a high near 79 degrees. The temperature will drop to around 56 degrees tonight, according to the National Weather Service
  2. In recognition of Macomb Township's German roots, we bring you the German Word of the Day: begrüßen, meaning to greet, is a verb pronounced [beh-gruh-sen]. 
  3. The Parks and Recreation Department is continuing its summer line-up of free events with tonight's Park-It Family Fun Night. The main attraction will be a drive-in showing of Megamind at 8:15 p.m. in the (Town Hall and Recreation Center square), but the event will also feature entertainment by the band Main Street Drive, bouncy house fun, face painting, traveling cartoon characters and more–all free. 
  4. Macomb Township is home to multiple golf courses and Patch is packing its clubs and heading off to the greens to uncover the best of each. In this first installment of "Golf Macomb," Patch reporter John McTaggert tees off at Sycamore Hills Golf Course. 
  5. On this day in 1919, the Treaty of Versailles was signed ending World War I exactly five years after it began. The treaty also established the League of Nations. The League has since evolved into the United Nations.
