Five Reasons Why I Love the Monday After Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgving! But you know, I am totally OK that today is Monday. How about you?

I love the holidays. Thanksgiving is full of tasty food and good time ... but there is something to be said for the Monday after a holiday. Here are my top five reasons why I am totally OK with the fact that today is Monday.

1. Cyber Monday! My LOVE for online shopping began when I became a Stay-At-Home-Mom. I put in a load of laundry, put the Babe down for a nap while the other Babe is at school, pour a cup of coffee, and enjoy shopping in silence. Bliss!

2. No more intense discussions over a morning cup of coffee (and lunch and afternoon coffee) with my husband about our different visions for exterior illumination. (I am Clark Griswold at heart).

3. I am *DONE* sweating over my oven while everyone is cool and fresh in any other room in the house. This weekend, I baked four pumpkin pies, two coconut cream pies, 72 chocolate chip cookies and roasted five pounds of root vegetables.  Everything turned out delicious, but I think I lost five pounds in water weight (which I put right back on with my fresh baked goods).

4. I look forward to getting back to a regular bed time. My family is not capable of hanging late into the night without going BANANAS over the next several days. One gets over-emotional. The other gets super cranky and aggressive. And the third doesn’t have enough patience to deal with any of it. And me? I am left hanging on by a thread while I try to manage all of these over-tired, spirited individuals.

5. Everyone goes back to school and work. Let’s just say as nice as it is to have everyone under the same roof for some cozy holiday togetherness, five consecutive days is just a tad long, no?

So how was your Thanksgiving weekend?
