Healing Dolls Workshop
Tap into history with one of the oldest creative
expressions—doll making. Celebrate your mother
and Mother Earth by making your own. That lonely
earring that belonged to your grandmother, a bit of
and any other meaningful items would help to honor
the ones who sustain you.
The techniques we will use originated on Africa’s
Ivory Coast and were passed on to our instructor,
Margaret McGuinness, M.Ed., ATR-BC, by artist Riua
Akinshegun. The doll-making process is both
therapeutic and educational, used for thousands of
years to teach cultural and spiritual beliefs. Read
more about Ms. Akinshegun here.
All ages, $15
