"Retro Movie Night" with "E.T. the Extraterrestrial" and the Seven Ponds Astronomy Club

On Tuesday August 13, the Imlay City
Downtown Development Authorities’ FREE Outdoor Movie Series continues in Lamb-Steele Park with a special “Retro Night”
featuring 1982’s “E.T. the Extraterrestrial”, rated PG.  Directed by Steven Spielberg, this
family-friendly film tells the story of Elliott, a lonely boy who
befriends an extraterrestrial named E.T., who is stranded on Earth.  Elliott and his siblings help the E.T. return
home while attempting to keep it hidden from their mother and the
government.  Winner of three Academy
Awards, this classic film is regarded as one of the best science-fiction films
of all time.



To keep with the theme, movie-goers are encouraged to dress
in their best 80’ attire, alien costume, or their favorite pajamas.  Blankets, pillows and lawn chairs are also
encourage for a relaxed, fun evening.  The
Imlay City High School Band Boosters will be on hand serving refreshments,
including movie popcorn!



As an added attraction, representatives from the Seven Ponds
Astronomy Club will be on hand before and during the movie with large, powerful
telescopes to view the night sky.  Club
members will be discussing the latest news in space exploration and how your
family can get involved with astronomy as a hobby.  A drawing will be held just before the movie
starts for free admission to Seven Ponds Nature in Dryden.

The 2013 Outdoor Movie Series is sponsored by the Four
County Community Foundation and the Imlay City Downtown Development
