Community Corner

Community Wellness Day

Community Wellness Day is a national event focusing on educating all the members of our community on very important information which is critical to the total
wellness of all our residents.  We will be sharing an array of information on health, safety, environmental and financial wellness.
This event will be taking place in many cities nationwide during a 4 week  period of fall of 2011.

Our political leaders will be recognizing this as an important day in our community to empower people to take back responsibility for their families’ well being.

New York Life will be on hand to provide important ID information for children, families and seniors, and the local fire department will be providing fire prevention
and safety information.  Other programs, such as car seat safety, bicycle safety, internet safety, identity fraud protection, and financial literacy are also being offered.  In addition there will be health screenings, drug & alcohol awareness information and much more.

As you can see, this
Community Wellness Day has much information available for all ages of our
community.  There is no admission charge, but there will be fun, food
& entertainment for all who take advantage of this great day of
opportunity.

We have chosen the Macomb
Charitable Foundation
as the beneficiary of our event. This is a non-profit of volunteers
giving the proceeds to our unfortunate children.

I believe it is obvious to our most civic-minded citizens that the health care crisis is not going to be solved in Washington; it is going to be solved right
here within our community, by people such as yourselves, making lifestyle
changes due to the impact of this particular event.

I have worked hard outside of my office in our
community to give people the tools they need to take back responsibility for
their families’ health and wellbeing.  It
is for this reason I am so proud to be bringing this event to our town.
