Pet Gift Ideas This Holiday Season

Are you one of those pet parents like my mommy and daddy who purchase holiday gifts for your beloved dog or cat? The Detroit Free Press recently posted an article on popular pet gift ideas. According to the article, a recent poll found more than half of American pet parents will purchase gifts for their pets this season and will spend an average of $46 on toys and treats for the holiday.

Petco even has a holiday checklist for your pets which includes sweaters, toys, treats, and even a snuggie, an item that, according to the Free Press article, is one of the most popular. I have one, and it keeps me warm during the cold Michigan months (though my mommy finds it cuter than I do).

Petsmart now carries heated pet beds! They also have lots of toys, including collectible stuffed animals. I know this is on my holiday checklist to give to my mommy and daddy.

If you want to capture a holiday moment for your pet with Santa, there is still time. This weekend (Dec. 17 and 18), Michigan Humane Society & PetSmart (of Taylor and West Bloomfield) will be be hosting Santa photos with your pets. Proceeds go to charity.
