Four L’Anse Creuse High School – North seniors have signed to play college level sports

MACOMB, Mich. – L’Anse Creuse High School – North seniors; Brandon Backus, Rob Hopkins, Nick Ivone, and Devin LaPorte have signed to play college level sports. 

Brandon Backus has signed to play lacrosse at Fontbonne University in Clayton, Missouri with an academic scholarship.  Backus is the captain of the lacrosse team and a two year starter at midfield.

Rob Hopkins will play basketball for Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri and will receive a full scholarship.  Hopkins was a starter on the Varsity Basketball team for two years and has been named All MAC RED, First Team All Macomb County Class A, Second Team All Detroit Metro East, and was voted by his Teammates as Co-MVP this season.

Nick Ivone will play baseball for Saginaw Valley University in Saginaw, Michigan. Ivone is a center fielder for L’Anse Creuse High School – North’s baseball team and was selected to First Team All-MAC White Team in 2012.

Devin LaPorte will play lacrosse at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California. LaPorte is a two year starter playing the attack position and led his team is goals during the 2012 season.
