HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – On April 17, approximately 375 physics students from L’Anse Creuse High School will participate in the Tenth Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta at the at 7 p.m. The purpose of the regatta is to use the laws of physics to design and construct a boat entirely out of cardboard that can be paddled by two students across the pool and back.

"The Boat Regatta is an excellent project because it allows students to apply a variety of physics principles into their designs and really show off their creativity," said physics teacher Nick Ellul.

Boats will be displayed in the L’Anse Creuse High School gymnasium for judging from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m., and the regatta will be from 7-9 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring one canned or boxed food item to help support the Gleaners Community Food Bank of S.E. MI.
