Arrest of 4 Brings to 20 Number of People Caught in Online Sting

Three men were arrested for allegedly soliciting sex in exchange for drugs; a fourth man is accused of soliciting sex from an undercover officer.

Four metro Detroit men are the latest to be arrested in a three-month probe by Macomb County officials, bringing to 20 the number of people who have been charged with computer-related criminal activity.

Three of the four men arrested this week planned to exchange sex for drugs and a fourth solicited sex from an undercover officer, the Detroit Free Press reports. Their arrests came after two separate investigations by officers with the Macomb Area Computer Enforcement Team and the sheriff’s Special Enforcement Team.

In the drugs-for-sex charges, one of the men allegedly talked to detective online and said he would pick up some friends and bring “snow” to a pre-arranged location in Macomb County. Detectives found powdered cocaine, crack cocaine and a .40-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun in their vehicle when they arrived.
