Cali Man Goes to Federal Prison for Sex With Macomb Twp. Girl

Adelso Vicente, 29, was sentenced this month to serve more than 11 years in federal prison for engaging in sexual acts with a 13-year-old girl.

The California man convicted of driving cross country to have sex with a 13-year-old Macomb Township girl has been sentenced to serve more than a decade in federal prison, according to The Daily Tribune.

Adelso Vicente, 29, was sentenced this month in two courts to 135 months in prison (U.S. District Court) and 85 months to 15 years (Macomb County Circuit Court). The Daily Tribune reports these terms will be served concurrently in a federal prison near Palo Alto.

Vicente, an undocumented resident from Guatemala, drove to Michigan twice last year to meet with a Macomb Township teen he met on Facebook, according to The Daily Tribune. It was on the second visit that he picked her up at her school bus stop and took her to the War-Del Motel at 21 Mile and Van Dyke in Shelby Township to engage in sexual acts, federal investigators say.

Vicente pleaded guily to three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct at the state level and one charge of coercion and enticement of a minor across state lines at the federal level. A fourth state charge of using the Internet to commit a crime was dismissed, according to The Daily Tribune.

Once released, Vicente will serve five years federal parole during which time he cannot have contact with anyone under the age of 18 unless accompanied by an adult who has knowledge of his conviction. He must register as a sex offender and will be limited to a single wired Internet connection, according to The Daily Tribune.
