Detroit Free Press: Macomb Driver Arrested Following Fatal Groesbeck Crash

A 52-year-old Macomb Township woman is being held in the Macomb County Jail following Saturday's head-on accident on Groesbeck in which a Clinton Township woman died.

A 52-year-old Macomb Township woman is in police custody following a head-on crash Saturday that resulted in the death of a Clinton Township resident, according to The Detroit Free Press.

The Free Press reports that the Macomb Township woman was driving north on Groesbeck when she crossed the centerline and hit a vehicle driven by the victim, a 52-year-old Clinton Township woman, head on.

Police said the victim was declared dead at the scene. They have not released the identity of the driver or the victim.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:09 p.m., according to Free Press reports.

The accident is under investigation and police believe alcohol and/or drugs may have been a factor. They are awaiting the results of toxicology tests, according to a release by Clinton Township Police Lt. Ray Nacksoud.

The driver was arrested and is being held at the Macomb County Jail pending an arraignment, according to Free Press reports.
