Ferret Nabbing Investigated in Macomb Township

A 35-year-old Macomb Township woman contacted the Macomb County Sheriff's Office April 22 to report that her pet ferret was taken from her home during a party.

According to a police report, pictures of the ferret and the name of a 17-year-old suspect were posted on Facebook following the party.

Deputies confronted the suspect, and the kidnapped ferret was returned to the owner. The suspect told the deputies that someone gave her the ferret in the driveway after the party.

Macomb County Sheriff's Office Detective Sgt. Jason Abro stated in a report posted on CBS Detroit that the case will be turned over to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
