Fire Chief: Cause of Windemere Farms Condo Fire 'Electrical'

Fire investigators have determined that the July 10 fire at a Windemere Farms condo was an electrical short in the garage.

Billowing smoke, flames and sounds likened to explosions filled the air Sunday night as a was destroyed by fire.

Gas cans and the propane tank of a grill were initially suspected as the cause of the blaze, but Fire Chief Robert Phillips said investigators have finally determined the cause to be an electrical short in the garage.

Phillips attributes the “explosions” witnesses in the area claimed to hear to the explosion of the gas tanks, propane tank and cans of spray paint stored in the garage.
