Firefighters' New Million-Dollar Wheels Roll Into Macomb
The newest addition to Macomb Township's firefighting force, a $900,000 ladder truck, has finally arrived.
The Macomb Township Fire Department's newest set of wheels has arrived.
The $900,000 ladder truck could be seen in the parking lot Wednesday as Fire Chief Robert Phillips showcased its capabilities for township trustees.
The new truck, which boasts a 100-foot plus ladder and 2,000-gallon per minute water pump, replaces the department's 17-year-old, 70-foot ladder truck.

Built by Pennsylvania-based KME Fire Apparatus, the truck took seven months to construct.
In an earlier interview with Patch, Phillips said the 70-foot truck would likely be sold to a smaller fire department.
