Former Strongsville Player Arrested in Iowa

Hawkeyes players Micah Hyde, Ray Hamilton and Drew Clark were all charged this weekend

Disappointing news for the Iowa Hawkeyes squad football squad during their bye week this weekend.

Three players have been arrested, including senior captain Micah Hyde, 21, a defensive back from Fostoria, OH. Ray Hamilton and Drew Clark were also charged in separate incidents.

Hyde was among a group of 15 people who would not leave and then fought with staff at Old Capitol Brew Works early Saturday morning, the Iowa City Press-Citizen and the Gazette are reporting. The Gazette cited an Iowa City police report.

The group had started to leave when police arrived but then ran after police ordered them to stop. Hyde was charged with public intoxication and interference with official acts.

Ray Hamilton, 19, a sophomore backup tight end from Strongsville, was arrested at Pints early Saturday morning. He was charged with being underage in a bar after 10 p.m.

Clark, 22, a junior backup offensive lineman from Marion, was arrested early Friday morning for a public intoxication.

Hamilton was a standout athlete at Strongsville High School in both basketball and football. He graduated in 2011.

The University of Iowa athletics department has not yet released a statement about the arrests.

Iowa (3-2) next plays Michigan State (4-2) on Oct. 13.
