'Funeral Bandit' Wanted for Burglaries in 5 Counties

Police are looking for a man who has robbed 16 homes while residents were at funerals or the homes were awaiting estate sales.

Police call him the "funeral bandit" and he's wanted in connection with 16 home burglaries spanning five counties in southeast Michigan, possibly including thefts from Macomb Township.

According to an article in the Detroit Free Press, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said they are looking for the thief that targeted homes that were awaiting estate sales or homes of families who were at funerals.

At a press conference Monday afternoon, Bouchard said they suspect Todd Lloyd Griffin, 44, who is on probation for larceny.

When police searched Griffin's home in Pontiac, they found thousands of dollars worth of property, according to the Free Press.

Police said that homes in Oakland, Livingston, Macomb, Genesee, and Shiawassee counties were targeted.
