Macomb Fire Department Called to Second Condo Fire in Windemere Farms

Firefighters responded to the second condo fire this month in Windemere Farms off Heydenreich Road.

Firefighters in Macomb Township responded to a condo fire Friday afternoon in Windemere Farms, the second fire to occur in that complex this month.

Neighbors said the fire started when the condo's owner tried to recharge her car's battery. The car was parked in the condo's driveway and the spark from the battery ignited the adjacent garage, which then spread to the condo itself, said Macomb County Sheriff's Capt. Brenda Baker.

The resident of the condo escaped the fire unharmed.
