Macomb Township Man Sentenced for Pizzeria Robbery, Carjacking

A 21-year-old Macomb Township man was sentenced this month to a minimum of 12 years in prison for a pizzeria robbery and carjacking in the community, according to Macomb County Circuit Court records.

Joseph Crossley was convicted of four felonies: assault with intent to rob while armed, carjacking and two weapons charges. He could face a many as 30 years behind bars, the records show.

Crossley was accused of robbing a Domino's Pizza at gunpoint on Feb. 4 on 21 Mile and carjacking teenagers less than a week later outside a Little Caesars Pizza on the same Macomb Township street.

In the first incident, an armed man with a red bandanna over his face demanded the clerk hand over money and took her cell phone as well as a delivery person's wallet and car keys. The vehicle was found later in an adjourning subdivision, the Macomb County Sheriff's Office said.

Police then responded to a carjacking at around 11 p.m. Feb. 9 outside Little Caesars. During that time, a man wearing a red bandanna over part of his face and brandishing a black handgun demanded money and forced two teens, ages 16 and 19, out of a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero just outside the pizzeria. He tried to order them back into the business, but the doors were locked. He then fled in their car, the Sheriff's Office stated.
