Macomb Twp. Man Arrested in Flagstar Bank Robbery

A 44-year-old Macomb Township man has been arrested for allegedly robbing the Flagstar Bank on Hall Road Aug. 31.

Macomb County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 44-year-old Macomb Township man Wednesday who is suspected of robbing the on Hall Road last week.

Deputies arrested the suspect, whose name has not been released, at his Macomb Township home after receiving a tip from someone who was able to identify him from the , Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said.  

The suspect, who was previously convicted of bank robbery in Macomb County in November 2010, was currently on probation. He had been sentenced in January 2011 to serve two years probation, with the first four months on house arrest and 39 days time-served, according to the sheriff's office.

Wickersham said the man was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in 41A District Court in Shelby Township.

The suspect entered the bank on Hall Road near Heydenreich at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 31 and passed a note to the teller implying he had a gun and ordering an undisclosed amount of money be turned over, according to police. The suspect then fled the scene on a green mountain bike.

He was arrested at his home on Thorn Tree Lane, less than a mile from the bank, according to the sheriff's office.
