Man Charged With Lying in Double Murder is Mentally Disabled, Innocent, His Father Says

Jay Miller has not been charged with the murders of a woman and her daughter but was arrested in part of an ongoing investigation.

A 29-year-old man charged with lying to Clinton Township police during a double-murder investigation is mentally disabled and innocent, his father told The Macomb Daily.

Abraham Miller told the newspaper that Jay Miller doesn't have the mental capacity to have killed Tina Geiger and her 11-year-old daughter, Kristina. The victims were found slain July 30 in their apartment.

Jay Miller helped his father, who lived next to the Geigers, on July 25 at his office cleaning job and, on the same day, police believe the victims were killed, the article states.

The mother and daughter, who were mentally challenged, had not been seen several days before their bodies were discovered after a caregiver or guardian asked the apartment manager to check on them.

Jay Miller was charged with lying to police in a violent crime investigation and resisting and obstructing police. He is being held in Macomb County Jail in lieu of a $200,000 cash/surety bond. He has not been charged with the slayings in the ongoing investigation.
