A Detroit man was bitten in the buttocks after he reportedly tried to choke a police dog that had cornered him after he fled from St. Clair Shores police in a traffic stop last week.
Police attempted to stop Ronald Kirk Brown, 24, on a defective equipment violation as he was westbound on I-94 around 9 Mile Wednesday, but Brown drove his vehicle up an embankment and off the freeway, then fled on foot, the Detroit Free Press reports.
A canine officer in the area with Roseville police was released and located Brown in the Vernier and Harper area. Brown reportedly tried to punch or choke the dog, promoting the dog to bite. Brown was treated at St. John Hospital and Medical Center and again attempted to escape. He was handcuffed at the time.
He was arraigned this week on multiple charges and ordered held on $75,000 bond.The dog wasn’t injured.
