An argument over the use of garbage cans ended in the arrest of a Macomb Township resident on June 19 for assault and battery and resisting an officer.

Macomb County sheriff's deputies were called to a home in the 17000 block of 26 Mile Road on the evening of June 19 for a report of an assault. Michael Anthony Krol told deputies an argument with his neighbor, Myles Edwin Harris, over the use of Krol's garbage cans escalated into a fight between the two men in which Krol said he suffered injuries to his face and back and was bitten on his right arm.

Harris' brother, Loren Bradley Harris, and mother, Sheryl Ann Harris, were witnesses to the fight. Loren Harris told police he had approached Krol earlier that evening to borrow gasoline. At that time, Loren Harris said Krol was "pissed" about the Harris family using his garbage can, despite the agreement between Krol's landlord and the Harris family that allows such use. Loren Harris left Krol's home and his brother, Myles, went over to confront him. Sheryl and Loren Harris told police they saw the pair wrestling on the ground and went to break it up.
