Police Blotter: 2nd Dodge Ram Stolen, Sterling Heights Men Found with Marijuana in Macomb

Dodge Ram stolen from Cherry Blossom Drive

On June 20, at approximately 6:21 a.m., a homeowner in the 21000 block of Cherry Blossom Drive in Macomb Township reported his Dodge Ram pickup stolen.

The owner told Macomb County sheriff's deputies he had parked the truck in his driveway at 9:30 p.m., but when he returned to it at 6 a.m. it was missing. The man had both sets of keys and deputies saw no signs of forced entry, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies checked the area but found no signs of the truck or possible suspects. The model year and license plate number for this vehicle was not available, according to the sheriff's office.

This is in Macomb Township in the past month. According to the Michigan Automobile Theft Prevention Authority, the Dodge Ram pickup is the most stolen vehicle in the state.

Sterling Heights man arrested for possession of marijuana

On June 20, at approximately 2:07 a.m., a Macomb County sheriff’s deputy stopped a suspicious vehicle driving in the area of Leone Drive, an industrial section of Macomb Township.

The deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and conducted a pat search of the suspect. The search revealed a clear plastic baggie filled with marijuana on the suspect, a 21-year-old Sterling Heights man, according to the sheriff’s office.

The man was arrested for possession of marijuana and lodged at the Macomb County Jail.

Sterling Heights man arrested on suspicion of dealing marijuana

On June 20, at approximately 3:07 a.m., a Macomb County sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of North Avenue and Hall Road that had repeatedly drifted over the fog line and onto the shoulder.

The deputy smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and conducted a pat search of the driver. The 30-year-old Sterling Heights man was found to be carrying eight small plastic baggies of marijuana, which Macomb County Sheriff's Capt. Liz Darga said is consistent with those in the manufacture and delivery of marijuana.

The man was arrested for possession with intent to deliver marijuana and lodged at the Macomb County Jail.

Accident leads to arrest for man with marijuana warrant

On June 21, at approximately 5:27 p.m., Macomb County sheriff’s deputies responded to a three-car accident in the area of 21 Mile and Garfield roads in Macomb Township.

One of the drivers, a 35-year-old Mount Clemens man, was found driving with a suspended license and a warrant out of Warren for possession of marijuana, according to the sheriff’s office. The man was arrested for driving with a suspended license and will face additional charges in Warren.
