Police Blotter: $400 Stolen from Car Wash, Drivers Found with Xanax, Percocet, Pot

Traffic stops reveal drivers packing prescription pills, pot

On July 27, at approximately 2:39 a.m., a 40-year-old Macomb Township resident was stopped by a Macomb County Sheriff's deputy in the area of Woodberry Lake Drive and 21 Mile Road for swerving.

Approaching the vehicle, the deputy recognized the odor of marijuana and noticed an open can of Bud Light in the vehicle. The man admitted to the deputy that he had marijuana in the vehicle, according to the police report.

The man was arrested for possession of marijuana.

On July 25, at approximately 2:50 a.m., a 17-year-old Macomb Township resident was stopped for speeding in the area of Yale and Granite Drive.

A Macomb County Sheriff’s deputy noticed marijuana on the front seat of the vehicle and found several pills in the teen’s possession. The pills were later identified as Xanax, a Schedule IV drug according to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

A preliminary breath test of the driver also revealed his blood alcohol content to be .056, according to the police report.

The teen was arrested for possession of analogs, possession of marijuana and cited for minor in possession.

On July 24, at approximately 4:04 a.m., a 20-year-old Chesterfield Township man was stopped in the area of Industrial Drive and 23 Mile Road in Macomb Township.

A Macomb County Sheriff’s deputy stopped the man for failing to signal on a right hand turn. A bottle of pills, with the label ripped off, was found in the driver’s possession. Nine of the pills were identified as Percocet, while another five could not be identified, according to the police report.

The man was arrested for possession of analogs and taken to the Macomb County Jail.

$400 stolen in auto wash break-in

On July 27, at approximately 6:55 a.m., in the 51000 block of Milano Drive in Macomb Township reported someone had broken into the business and stolen around $400 from the cash register.

Video surveillance captured a possible suspect who police describe as a white male wearing dark colored pants and a hoodie.

No arrests have been made in this case.

Grabow campaign sign stolen from 22 Mile Road lawn

On July 26, at approximately 8:34 a.m., a homeowner in the 20700 block of 22 Mile Road reported a "Mark Grabow for Supervisor" campaign sign had been stolen from the home’s front lawn.

There are no suspects at this time.

Teen arrested for drunken driving

On July 30, at approximately 3:01 a.m., an 18-year-old Macomb Township male was stopped in the area of 25 Mile Road and Fallbrooke Drive.

A Macomb County Sheriff’s deputy stopped the teen after he ran a stop sign at Garfield and 25 Mile Road.

A preliminary breath test revealed the driver had a .08 blood alcohol content, according to the police report. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated and taken to the Macomb County Jail.
