Police Blotter: 6 Under Age 25 Arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Cocaine, Heroin

Deputies arrest man with outstanding warrant for drug possession

On June 13, at approximately 8:13 p.m., Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies caught up with a 23-year-old Macomb Township man facing a warrant for cocaine possession out of the 41A District Court.

Deputies found the man in the 16000 block of East View Drive in Macomb. A search of the suspect uncovered an unused syringe, glass pipe and small bottle, all of which are commonly used by those smoking narcotics, said sheriff’s Capt. Liz Darga.

Deputies also found two substances in the man’s home that were later identified as cocaine and heroin.

The man was charged for possession of cocaine and possession of heroin.

Unlit registration plate light ends in arrest for marijuana possession, MIP

On June 14, at approximately 1:31 a.m., a Macomb County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of Tilch Road and Patrick Henry Drive for driving with an unlit registration plate light.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy noticed a beer can in the rear of the 19-year-old Macomb Township man's car and began investigating for minor in possession. 

A search of the vehicle revealed numerous marijuana cigarette ends as well as a glass pipe.

The Macomb man was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also given a MIP.

False assault report leads to arrest for marijuana possession

On June 12, at approximately 8:35 p.m., Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 46000 block of Plum Grove in Macomb Township to investigate the report of a possible felonious assault.

The suspect in question had left the scene before officers arrived, but police were able to catch up with the 18-year-old Macomb Township resident later that night.

During the resulting traffic stop, deputies asked the man for his ID. While retrieving his ID, two plastic baggies filled with remnants of a green substance, believed to be marijuana, fell out of the bifold of his wallet.

The substance tested positive for marijuana and more of the drug was found in the man’s pockets.

The man was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Traffic stop ends in arrest for marijuana possession

On June 12, at approximately 12:28 a.m., a Macomb County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of Labaere and Newbridge Drive in Macomb Township for driving without a registration plate light.

When the deputy approached the vehicle, he noticed the odor of marijuana and asked the driver and passenger to step out of the car.

A search of the vehicle revealed a glass marijuana smoking pipe and some loose marijuana, according to the police report. A plastic baggie of marijuana was found in the driver’s right shoe, as well.

The driver, a 19-year-old Shelby Township man, was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and ticketed for defective equipment.

The passenger, an 18-year-old Shelby Township man, was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Unlit registration plate light ends in arrest for marijuana possession

On June 13, at approximately 2:59 a.m., a Macomb County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a 20-year-old Macomb Township man in the area of Howard and Azalea Drive for driving with an unlit registration plate.

Upon approaching the driver of the vehicle, the officer noticed a green plant-like substance on the front of the man’s clothing. The substance proved to be marijuana. A plastic baggie of the substance was also found in the vehicle. The man attempted to conceal some of the substance by putting it in his mouth, but was stopped, according to the police report.

The resident was arrested for possession of marijuana and ticketed for defective equipment.
