Police Blotter: Arrests for Drunken Driving, Driving Without License

Drunken Driving Arrest
A Macomb County Sheriff's deputy arrested a 48-year-old Shelby Township man near 21 Mile and Pamela on July 17 around 8:35 p.m. for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. According to the police report, a deputy observed the man driving recklessly through a parking lot and failing to stop when exiting the lot onto 21 Mile Road. The deputy stopped the man and upon smelling alcohol, had him complete sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test registered the man as having a .129 blood alcohol level. He was taken to Macomb County Jail overnight and his bond set at $100. He was issued a temporary driver's permit, according to the report.

On July 19 at around 9:50 p.m., the Macomb County Sheriff's Office performed a traffic stop at Hall Road, east of Groesbeck. The vehicle was registered to a Macomb Township man with a $2,500 bench warrant for failing to appear in 37th District Court in Warren and a $3,300 bench warrant for failing to appear in 38th District Court in Eastpointe, according to the report.
However, the driver of the vehicle was a 45-year-old Hazel Park woman. The woman was found to be driving on an expired and suspended license with a $2,500 bench warrant for failing to appear in 42-1 District Court in Romeo, according to police. The woman was taken to Macomb County Jail, where she was held on charges of driving without a license and the warrant and was issued a misdemeanor citation for driving without a license.
