Police Blotter: Arrests for Drunken Driving Made in Macomb

On Aug. 21 at approximately 1:15 p.m., deputies arrested a 56-year-old Ray Township man alleged to have hit a car parked in the 26 Mile Road Kroger parking lot and then attempted to leave the scene. Deputies administered a series of field sobriety tests, which the man failed, and a preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol content of .33. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. His vehicle was impounded and the man was taken to the Macomb County Jail where a $200 bond was set.
At around 12:45 p.m. on Aug. 15, a Macomb County deputy was dispatched to the intersection of 21 Mile and Garfield where a caller reported that a 45-year-old Macomb female hit the rear end of another vehicle and was now staggering in the street. Officers said the woman failed a series of field sobriety tests and registered a blood alcohol content of .33 in a preliminary breath test. She was arrested for operating while intoxicated and taken to the Macomb County Jail. She was issued a $100 bond.
A 29-year-old Rochester woman was arrested at approximately 10:50 p.m. Aug. 3 on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and fleeing the scene of an accident after she flipped her vehicle in a ditch on 26 Mile Road between Broughton and Romeo Plank roads. The woman said she fled the scene when a man witnessing the accident told her he was calling 911. She told police she then called a friend to say she was "hiding in the bushes and needed a ride" after crashing her car. A preliminary breath test registered the woman's blood alcohol contest at .15.
