Police Blotter: Beatles Argument Ends in Stabbing, Drunken Driver Hits Garage

Beatles argument ends in stabbing

On Feb. 21, at approximately 7:41 p.m., Macomb County Sheriff's deputies received a report of 21-year-old Macomb Township male being treated for multiple stab wounds at the on 23 Mile Road.

The suspect, a 17-year-old Macomb Township resident, told police he stabbed the victim with a Swiss Army-style knife following an argument about the Beatles. He admitted to then fleeing the scene, washing the blood from the knife and hiding it, according to the police report.

There were no witnesses to the crime, according to the police report.

The 17-year-old was arrested at his home and charged with aggravated felonious assault. He was then transported to the Macomb County Jail where he was lodged without bond.

Drunken driver hits garage, flees scene

On Feb. 25, at approximately 2:13 a.m., Macomb County Sheriff's deputies responded to a home in the 48000 block of Shenandoah Drive in Macomb Township on the report of a vehicle striking the home's garage and leaving the scene.

The homeowner was unable to identify the vehicle, but police were able to follow a trail of oil and radiator fluid to the driver's home.

The driver, a 35-year-old Macomb Township woman, told police she and friends were returning from the Hamlin Pub at Hayes and 22 Mile Road when she crashed her vehicle into the garage of the Macomb home. The crash caused two vehicles parked in the garage to lurch forward and damage the interior of the home as well. However, there were no injuries to anyone in the home.

The woman admitted to police she panicked after the crash and left the scene. She struck two mailboxes on the return to her own home, according to the police report.

The woman passed two sobriety tests, but registered a blood alcohol content of .12 in a preliminary breath test, according to the police report. She was arrested for operating while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an injury accident. She was taken to the Macomb County Jail and lodged on a $100 bond. Her Michigan driver's license was confiscated and destroyed.
