Police Blotter: Dodge Stratus Stolen, Employee Caught Selling Company Equipment for Drugs

Dodge Stratus stolen from Macomb carport

On June 28, at approximately 10:46 a.m., a homeowner in the 15000 block of Ashley Court in Macomb Township reported his 2000 Dodge Stratus had been stolen.

The owner told Macomb County sheriff’s deputies that he had parked the Stratus in his carport on the night of June 27, but when he returned to it at 10 a.m. the next day, it was missing.

The owner told police the vehicle had been locked, but its alarm system not activated. There was no broken glass at the scene to indicate forced entry, according to police.

There are no suspects at this time.

The missing vehicle is a four-door 2000 Dodge Stratus, purple in color with the license plate 5JCG92.

Surveillance tapes catch employee stealing company equipment

On June 27, at approximately 1:45 p.m., a machining business in the 16700 block of 23 Mile Road reported to police that an employee was suspected of stealing company equipment.

The suspect, a 31-year-old Lapeer man, was thought to have stolen several items from the company, including machine parts and cutting tools. Surveillance video from the business captured the employee leaving the facility with these items, according to police. 

When sheriff's deputies confronted the employee he admitted to stealing company equipment on several occasions and selling it for cash to pay for his Oxycodone addiction, according to the police report. 

The man was arrested for larceny in a building–a felony–and taken to the Macomb County Jail where he was held without bond.

Clinton Township teen arrested for marijuana possession

On June 26, at approximately 1:29 a.m., a Macomb County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of 22 Mile and Romeo Plank for driving with dark tinted taillight covers.

Approaching the vehicle, the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana. A search of the suspect and vehicle revealed a plastic baggie of marijuana as well as a pipe, according to the police report.

The 18-year-old Clinton Township driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was taken to the Macomb County Jail and held on a $100 bond.

Macomb man stopped for plate light, arrested for narcotic paraphernalia

On June 28, at approximately 1:48 a.m., a Macomb County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of Village Drive and 22 Mile Road for driving with a defective license plate light.

The 22-year-old Macomb Township driver was found to be driving with a suspended license. A pat search of the driver revealed a marijuana pipe in his pant’s pocket, according to the police report.

The man was arrested for possession of narcotic paraphernalia and cited for driving with a suspended license. He was taken to the Macomb County Jail and held on a $100 bond.
