Police Blotter: Driver Registers Blood Alcohol Content Almost 4 Times Legal Limit

Drunken driver's blood alcohol content almost four times legal limit

On March 23, approximately 38 minutes after midnight, a Macomb County sheriff's deputy stopped a driver in the area of North Avenue and Hagen Road on suspicion of drunken driving.

Prior to stopping the vehicle, the deputy saw the car cross the center line, drift over the fog line and cross the center line again while traveling northbound on North Avenue in Macomb Township.

The driver, a 25-year-old Sterling Heights man, failed a series of sobriety tests and registered a .31 blood alcohol content on a preliminary breath test. 

The man was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, second offense, and transported to the Macomb County Jail where he was lodged on a $200 bond.

Drunken driver hits parked vehicle, drives across neighbors' lawns

On March 25, at approximately 2:52 a.m., Macomb County Sheriff's deputies received a report of a suspected drunken driver in the 45000 block of Montmorency Drive in Macomb Township.

A witness told police he saw the 21-year-old Macomb Township man twice back his vehicle into a car parked in the driveway of an area home, while another witness saw the man drive across two lawns.

Submitting to a preliminary breath test, the man registered a .27 blood alcohol content.

Deputies arrested him for operating while intoxicated, second offense, driving with a suspended license, first offense, and driving without an operator permit on his person. The man was taken to the Macomb County Jail and lodged on a $300 bond.
