Police Blotter: Macomb Man Arrested for Child Pornography, Blank Checks Stolen from Home's Porch

A 45-year-old Macomb Township man was arrested Saturday for allegedly possessing child pornography, in one instance showing a victim as young as 6 years old.

was arraigned Monday in the 41-A District Court of Shelby Township on 10 counts of child pornography possession and one count of use of a computer communicating with another to commit a crime. These are both felonies, punishable by up to four and seven years in prison, respectively.

Macomb Area Computer Enforcement detectives executed a search warrant of Morris' residence in Macomb Township, where they seized a computer and related material.

Morris was arrested at his place of employment on July 14. He was previously convicted for Criminal Sexual Conduct, first degree, in 1990.

Chesterfield man arrested for possession of marijuana

On July 12, at approximately 6:17 a.m., a Macomb County sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of 21 Mile and La Roche Drive for improper passing.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer noticed plant stems in the driver’s door handle and smelled the odor of marijuana, according to the police report.

A clear plastic baggie of marijuana was found during a search of the vehicle.

The driver, a 25-year-old Chesterfield man, was arrested for possession of marijuana and taken to the Macomb County Jail where he was held on a $100 bond.

Boxes of blank checks stolen from porch on Strawberry Knoll

On July 11, at approximately 5:28 p.m., a homeowner in the 48700 block of Strawberry Knoll Lane reported two boxes of blank checks had been stolen from her front porch.

The homeowner noticed the checks on her porch when she left her house at 1:45 p.m. July 11, but didn't pick them up. When she returned home later that day, the checks were missing.

The checks were cancelled following the theft.

There are no witnesses or suspects at this time.

TV, gaming system stolen from Fairchild Road home

On July 11, at approximately 5:56 p.m., residents in the 46200 block of Fairchild Road reported a home invasion to Macomb County sheriff's dispatch.

Homeowners told police they left their house at 8 a.m. July 11 and when they returned later that day, their 42-inch Samsung TV and Nintendo Wii game system were missing.

There were no signs of forced entry into the home and deputies found the home’s sliding door unlocked.

There are no suspects at this time.
