Police Blotter: Man Arrested for Attempted Check Fraud at Bank of America

The following arrest information was supplied by the Macomb County Sheriff's Office. It does not indicate a conviction.

On Sept. 16 at approximately 6 p.m., Macomb County Sheriff's deputies responded to the Bank of America located on Romeo Plank Road in Macomb Township for a report of attempted check fraud.

Following interviews with bank personnel and the 49-year-old Macomb Township resident identified as the owner of the checks, deputies arrested an 18-year-old Macomb Township man who had attempted to cash the checks in his name at two locations. He was arrested on charges of uttering and publishing and transported to the Macomb County Jail.

The owner of the stolen checks informed deputies she intended to press charges.
