Police Blotter: Men Found in Possession of Heroin Kit, Prescription Meds

Police arrest two in possession of heroin kit, prescription meds

On Jan. 11, at 4:44 p.m., Macomb County Sheriff's officers received a report of two "suspicious" persons walking eastbound on 21 Mile Road from Card. The men, a 23-year-old Clinton Township resident and 25-year-old St. Clair Shores resident, told police they were homeless and looking for a place to stay, according to the police report.

In searching a backpack in the Clinton Township resident's possession, police discovered a "heroin kit," containing two syringes, a small piece of cotton, shoe string, small knife and other items heroin users are known to carry, according to the police report. The man told police the kit belonged to his mother.

A pill bottle, containing Methadone and prescribed to another man, was found in the St. Clair Shores resident's possession. The man told police the pills belonged to his brother and he had the same prescription, but could not produce proof of this, according to the police report.

The Clinton Township man was arrested for possession of syringes and the St. Clair Shores man for possession of analogues. Both men were taken to the Macomb County Jail, where the former was held on a $100 cash bond and later on no bond, as he had a warrant for his arrest in another city.

Drunken driver's blood alcohol level four times the legal limit

On Jan. 23, at approximately 2:28 a.m., Macomb County Sheriff's officers observed a vehicle drifting over the fog lane on Romeo Plank in the area of Hall Road. Officers initiated a stop and observed that the driver appeared to be intoxicated.

A preliminary breath test revealed the driver, a 54-year-old Clinton Township man, had a 0.345 blood alcohol content. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated, according to the report. The man was taken to the Macomb County Jail and held on a $100 bond.
