Police Blotter: Sheriff Investigates Gaming Thefts, Unknown Persons

Video Gaming Theft

Officers were called to a home in the 21000 block of Joliet Dr. on May 12 for a report of a home invasion that resulted in the theft of two video gaming systems. A teen girl who lives in the home confirmed the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 were in the house when she arrived home from school at 2:30 p.m. However, when the girl's brother arrived home at 3:30 p.m., he noticed the systems missing. The girl had left a door unlocked for her brother, but did not see or hear anyone else enter the home. There were no signs of forced entry. The Xbox model number is BB11139458. There are no suspects in this case.

Attempted Home Invasion

Officers were called to a home in the 45000 block of South Brookside Dr. on May 5 for a report of an attempted home invasion. No entry was made, but the bottom and middle part of the front door's door frame did appear to have been forcibly removed and a flowerpot next to the door was overturned. No arrests have been made in this case.

Furnace Flight

Officers were called to a vacant home in the 45000 block of Brandywynne Ln. on May 6 for a report of a larceny of a furnace. The homeowners had vacated the property on April 8 and subcontractors arrived on site to winterize the home on April 25. A Select Real Estate agent responsible for the home reported the high-efficiency furnace missing from the basement. Officers observed saw cuts had been made to the gas line, plumbing and electrical connection. There are no suspects in this case.

Unidentified Persons

A homeowner in the 52000 block of Westcreek Dr. reported the presence of two unknown vehicles parked in front of her home on May 12. A dark green SUV, believed to be a Chevrolet, was observed pulling into the driveway of the home and the car's driver exited the vehicle, looked around and re-entered. A second vehicle, a maroon midsize car, was also seen following the SUV. The driver and passenger of the SUV are described as dark-skinned males in their 20s. The homeowner said the driver was tall with curly hair and the passenger wore a white and green plaid shirt and had short hair. The persons have not been identified and no arrests have been made in this case.
