Police Blotter: Stolen Jeep Recovered in Macomb, Teens Arrested for Marijuana

Stolen Jeep recovered on Marquette Drive

On June 18, at approximately 5:38 a.m., Macomb County Sheriff’s dispatch received a report of a suspicious person removing the license plate from a vehicle parked in the 45000 block of Marquette Drive in Macomb Township.

Upon arrival, sheriff’s deputies noticed a Jeep with its engine running and door ajar parked in the driveway of an area home. The license plate on the Jeep had been removed and fixed on a second Jeep parked in the street.

Sheriff’s deputies and K9 officers were unable to locate the suspect, but were able to trace the Jeep without a plate to its Rochester Hills owner.

Suspicious vehicles alert police to marijuana possession

On June 18, at approximately 1:24 a.m., Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies patrolling the area of Pointe and Millpointe Drive in Macomb Township noticed a suspicious vehicle parked on the street with its engine and lights off.

Approaching the vehicle, deputies smelled the odor of marijuana and saw one of the passengers holding a large green glass marijuana pipe. Another plastic baggie of marijuana was also uncovered from one of the passengers, according to the police report.

Both passengers, a 19-year-old Macomb Township female and 17-year-old Macomb Township male, were arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On June 17, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies patrolling the area of Anthony and Mark Drive in Macomb Township noticed a suspicious vehicle parked on the street with its lights off.

Deputies smelled an odor of marijuana in the vehicle and noticed a plastic baggie of marijuana protruding from one of the passenger’s pant’s pockets. A rolled marijuana cigarette was also found in the vehicle, according to the police report.

One of the passengers, an 18-year-old Chesterfield Township man, was arrested for possession of marijuana. The second passenger, an 18-year-old Clinton Township man was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of analogues (loose Adderall pills were found in the Clinton Township man’s possession), according to the police report.

Drunken driver hits parked cars, leaves scene

On June 16, at approximately 9:09 p.m., Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a hit-and-run in the area of Nicholas and Carnation Drive in Macomb Township.

Deputies noticed two parked cars that appeared to have been hit and traced the damage back to a 48-year-old Macomb Township woman who was believed to have been driving under the influence of alcohol when the accidents occurred.

The woman registered a .16 blood alcohol content on her preliminary breath test and was arrested for operating while intoxicated and failure to stop and identify at a property damage accident.

Traffic stop leads police to man wanted for dealing marijuana 

On June 16, at approximately 3:13 a.m., a Macomb County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of Basil and Gloria Drive for driving through a stop sign.

The 32-year-old Ferndale resident was found to be driving with a suspended license and further investigation revealed the man also had a warrant for his arrest out of Oakland County for dealing and manufacturing marijuana.

He was arrested for driving with a suspended license and will face the marijuana charge in Oakland County.
