Police Blotter: Stun Gun, Marijuana and Mace Found in Macomb Teen's Car

Car search reveals stun gun, marijuana, Mace and club-like wrench

On April 26, at approximately 6:58 p.m., Macomb County Sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle that appeared to be speeding in the area of 22 Mile Road and Romeo Plank.

The 18-year-old Macomb Township driver was initially arrested for operating without a license, but when deputies searched the car, they found a suspected jar of marijuana, an electric stun gun, a can of Mace and a large wrench wrapped with tape and shaped like a club, according to the police report.

Deputies also found a grinder, typically used for marijuana, and a glass pipe in the 17-year-old passenger's purse.

The substance in the jar tested positive for marijuana and the man was arrested for possession of marijuana and felony possession of a stun gun, in addition to driving without a license.

The female passenger, a Shelby Township resident, was arrested for possession of marijuana. Both were taken to the Macomb County Jail, where the driver was held without bond and the passenger given a $100 bond.

Heroin syringe uncovered in speeding driver's car

On April 26, at approximately 11:37 p.m., Macomb County Sheriff's deputies stopped a 30-year-old Armada Township man in the area of North Avenue and Chapman Road after seeing him run a red light at the intersection of 23 Mile and North Avenue and drive 68-72 mph through the 55 mph zone.

Once stopped, deputies asked permission to search the man's vehicle, which he gave after admitting he had a syringe in the car that he used for his heroin addiction, according to the police report.

Finding the syringe, police arrested the man for possession of narcotic paraphernalia and took him to the Macomb County Jail where he was held without bond. Possession of heroin is a felony.

The man was also ticketed for disobeying a traffic signal and speeding, 60 mph in a 55 mph zone.
