Police Blotter: Trio Steals Bag of Blockbuster Blu-rays, Teen Takes Marijuana Hit at Traffic Light

Unknown trio steals garbage bag full of Blu-ray discs from Blockbuster

On July 3, at approximately 6:13 p.m., Macomb County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of retail fraud at the at 21 Mile and Card.

A store employee told police three individuals–two males and a female–entered the store earlier that evening and while the two males occupied the clerk at the front counter, the female filled a garbage bag with Blu-ray discs and ran out of the store without paying, according to the police report.

The female is described as being in her early 20s, white with dark hair and about 5 feet 4 inches tall. The two white males are described as also being in their early 20s, “real skinny” and approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 6 feet tall. While one was “clean cut” with dark hair, the other had multiple tattoos and a scruffy goatee, according to the description given in the police report.

The three individuals ran out of the store together and left in a gold-colored sedan heading northbound on Card Road. Sheriff’s deputies were unable to locate the vehicle, but the case remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Detective Bureau at 586-469-5151.

Teen caught smoking pot at stop light

On July 4, at approximately 10:19 p.m., a Macomb County sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of 21 Mile Road and Romeo Plank after he saw one of the car’s two occupants hold a glass pipe to his lips while at the traffic light.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana. A preliminary search of the vehicle uncovered a large glass pipe in the glove box and a small amount of marijuana, according to the police report.

The 19-year-old Macomb Township driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. He was also ticketed for minor in possession after a bottle of vodka was found in the car.

The driver was taken to the Macomb County Jail and held on a $300 bond. The passenger, a juvenile, was turned over to a parent without charges.
