Authorities aren’t sure why a 79-year-old woman was standing in the roadway when she was struck and killed by two vehicles in Rochester Hills about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was first struck by a 2001 GMC Sonoma pickup  heading west on Auburn Road, then by a 2001 GMC Denali, the Detroit Free Press reports.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither driver was injured and alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said.
