Prankster Text Messages: 'I Hid The Body,' House Fire and More

Stranger sends strange text

An anonymous person sent a text message to a Macomb Township homeowner March 18, stating "OK, I hid the body," according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

The message, sent from a 586 area code number, was a mystery to the recipient who didn't know the sender and reported the incident to police. The Sheriff's Office says such messages have become a common prank to random cell phone numbers.

No one hurt in house fire

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office helped the Macomb Township Fire Department respond to a house fire Wednesday at the 17000 block of Tower. No one was injured, and the fire is not deemed suspicious.

Alleged drunken driver slumped over

Sheriff Deputies responded to a report around 7 p.m. Wednesday of a suspicious vehicle stopped at an intersection inside Hometown Macomb subdivision.

When they arrived, they found a 42-year-old Detroit man slumped over the wheel. He was administered a Breathalyzer that resulted in a blood-alcohol level of 0.38 percent—well above the state's legal driving limit of 0.08, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The man was arrested for operating while intoxicated and taken to a local hospital for a voluntary blood draw.
